View360, a daily news magazine show for Pakistan produced by Voice of America’s Urdu language service, debuts April 17, 2017.
The Urdu language program will provide its Pakistani audience objective and impartial news, as well as analysis on national and international events.
"This show will give Pakistanis a chance to hear directly from the policymakers of the United States and Pakistan,” said Akbar Ayazi, director of VOA’s South and Central Asia Division. “The show will create broader understanding and build bridges between these two nations," remarked Ayazi.
VOA Director Amanda Bennett is optimistic that the show will forge better relations between ordinary people of both countries. “We want to touch the lives of ordinary Pakistanis so they can feel connected to the people living ‘off the highways’ of big American cities and realize that human values, aspirations and problems are the same everywhere.”
View 360 will also feature personal stories of hopes, dreams, challenges and accomplishments of Pakistani-Americans, as well as segments on youth, women, education, health, entrepreneurship, scientific innovation, technology and entertainment.
This 25-minute magazine show is offered as a five-day TV product on AAJ News in Pakistan at 7:30 p.m. local time. It will also be streamed on VOA Urdu’s website and social media platforms.
In addition to TV, VOA Urdu broadcasts five hours of radio programming daily and has a dynamic website and social media presence which engages approximately 1.9 million visitors from Pakistan and around the world.
