In a TV interview with VOA’s Ukrainian Service, Senator McCain said, "We think that both presidents represent the very finest courage, dedication, and leadership, which brings about freedom and democracy. We think that these two individuals represent exactly what Mr. Nobel had in mind when he started this prize many years ago."
Senator McCain said that he has no doubt that the United States will provide assistance to Ukraine in the future and that the country’s Orange Revolution has been an inspiration to people around the world.
McCain is scheduled to travel to Ukraine along with Senator Clinton and Senator Joseph Lieberman, a Democrat from Connecticut, on February 11.
