The Atif and Tamseel Show, a new co-production from the VOA Urdu Service and Sunrise FM 97, a private radio network in Pakistan, is now reaching young people with a lively mix of information, entertainment and special features.
Muhammad Atif, who co-hosts the program from Washington with Sunrise FM 97’s Tamseel Ahmed in Islamabad, describes the show as “a cross-cultural window for our listeners in Pakistan. This show gives us an opportunity to interact with Pakistani youth.”
With the addition of Sunrise FM 97, VOA Urdu has now partnered with three radio and five television outlets in Pakistan, a significant achievement, considering the service had only two affiliates a year ago.
"FM networks in Pakistan are the places where young people in Pakistani get most of their news and entertainment,” says Urdu Service Chief Faiz Rehman. “Our new partnership with Sunrise FM 97 is another big step forward and it is opening doors for relationships with other networks as well,” Rehman says.
The Atif and Tamseel Show airs Fridays at 8 p.m. Pakistan time and can be listened to on the program’s webpage.
