March 7th VOA Anniversary Event

The Joint Armed Forces Color Guard began the event with the right tone.

Patsy Widakuswara from VOA’s Indonesian Service was our able Emcee.

VOA Director David Ensor introduced the rest of the program.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Sung Kyi’s message was one of the most touching we received, along with those from President Obama, Secretary Clinton, and the Dalai Lama.

Former Senator Ted Kaufman was our guest speaker.

Senator Kaufman is also a former BBG governor.

We were fortunate to have a good number of former VOA directors rejoin us for the day.

Chase Untermeyer, VOA’s 21st director, compares experiences with current Director David Ensor.

Sanford Ungar, VOA’s 24th director, chats with Walter Roberts, the only remaining member of the original 1942 broadcast team.

The Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra, led by VOA employee Eric Felten, punctuated the program with several memorable numbers that echoed VOA’s important jazz history.
