The latest in the Special English series on higher education in the U.S. presents an in-depth look at the Fulbright Program. Established in 1946, the Program gives Americans the opportunity to study, teach, or do research in other countries – and gives people in other countries the chance to do the same in the U.S.

The Fulbright Program, which operates in about 150 countries, awards grants to approximately 6,000 people each year. The Foreign Language Teaching Assistant, Foreign Student, and Visiting Scholar Programs bring international students, scholars, and experts to the United States.

Special English is now in their 20th week of their series on higher education in the United States. Visit their Education Report page for more stories.
