Nobel Peace Prize Winner Aung San Suu Kyi Visits VOA

Longtime VOA listener Aung San Suu Kyi (ASSK) visited VOA on September 19th and met with staff from the Burmese Service, which played a crucial role in keeping her informed while under house arrest in Burma.

Aung San Suu Kyi granted VOA several interviews over the years, and her fans at the headquarters gather around to get an autograph and picture.

“In building Democracy, we would like the United States to cooperate with us as good friends,” Aung San Suu Kyi tells VOA Burmese Reporter Kyaw Zan Tha when asked about her message to the U.S. government during her visit.

The Burmese Service received their internationally known listener, Aung San Suu Kyi.
