I first heard about Voice of America during my classes at Fordham University, so I was very excited to be recruited for the digital analytics team. I am a global media intern on this team, helping develop some projects on social media and digital strategy in different regions. Some of my projects so far have been writing blog posts to help familiarize VOA employees with our analytics resources and creating reports on each country's digital analytics. One of the things I appreciate the most about my experience interning at VOA is that from the first day I was assigned and trusted with individual hands-on projects. I am also able to reach out to other teams that I am interested in, such as social media, to make the most of my time here.
About Maya: I am half Brazilian and half Italian, but I live in New York, studying international relations and communications at Fordham University. This international perspective has helped me working here at VOA as it is important to be able to communicate across cultures. I speak Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and French, and my future goal is to work in diplomacy.
