When I first started my internship at VOA, I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the significant impact VOA has globally. Many countries rely on Voice of America for accurate news and information.
I work in the News Center hub, producing stories for VOA language services and the English website. I have also had the chance to pitch my own ideas. One of my favorite experiences this summer was reporting from The White House alongside VOA’s White House correspondent Anita Powell. We collaborated on a story about President Biden’s decision to extend protections for undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens. Reporting from the White House was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will undoubtedly shape my future career.

She previously interned at The Arizona Mirror and Arizona Public Media. She is active in the reporting of social justice issues.
